The HHHS Foundation is focused on building for the future, and continuing to grow current successful fundraising initiatives all while being accountable to our community and recognized as a leading not-for-profit in Haliburton County. In 2024, we successfully launched a 4.3M capital equipment campaign, Here for You in the Highlands, to upgrade and add life-saving and desperately needed diagnostic tools including CT (Haliburton was the only county in Ontario that did not have a CT scanner). The campaign concluded on November 1, 2024 after raising over 6.2M, enough to also replace aging X-ray equipment. The Campaign Cabinet strove to raise the funds and widen the donor base for the Foundation including reaching further in the communities that surround the hundreds of lakes in the county. 47% of donors to the campaign were new to the Foundation. In October, the HHHS Foundation was awarded the 2024 Not-For-Profit of the Year by the Haliburton County Chamber of Commerce.

Haliburton County, ON – With summer in full swing across Haliburton County, the Haliburton Highlands Health Services Foundation (HHHSF) is excited to announce that preparations are well underway for the 2025 Moose FM Health Radiothon, proudly driven by Minden Subaru. This much-anticipated annual event will take place on Thursday, August 14 and Friday, August 15, from 6am-6pm – and unite the community for 24 hours of generosity, stories, and support.
This year’s Radiothon will focus on raising vital funds for life-saving emergency equipment needed at Haliburton Highlands Health Services (HHHS), ensuring residents and visitors receive the critical care they need, close to home.
Best of all, your donation will go twice as far. The WB Family Foundation, representing a family of longtime cottagers in the Haliburton area, has stepped forward with a $100,000 matching gift to inspire the community. All donations will be matched dollar for dollar, doubling the impact of every gift made during the 2025 Radiothon.
“Our family has cherished the beauty and peace of the Haliburton Highlands for generations,” said a representative of The WB Family Foundation. “This community has given us so much over the years, and we want to help ensure that everyone here—residents and visitors alike—can count on excellent emergency care when they need it most.”
The need for updated and advanced equipment in the emergency and acute care departments is a priority for HHHS.
“In an emergency, every second matters—and so does having the right equipment,” said Dr. Keith Hay, Chief of Staff at HHHS. “Having new and upgraded tools ensures our team can respond swiftly and effectively when lives are on the line. Building on the success of last year’s Radiothon, which raised over $600,000 in support of women’s health for mammography equipment, this year’s event promises even more opportunities to give, with expanded outreach and community participation.

In April 2024, we started what would become the biggest and fastest campaign in our Foundation’s history. Our initial goal was to raise $4.3 million for diagnostic imaging equipment - CT, mammography, new ultrasound, a diagnostic imaging data archiving system, and the costs to bring them together into one accessible location.
As the campaign evolved, so did our understanding of the power of community.
In under a year, over $6.2 million dollars was raised in support of diagnostic imaging. HHHS Foundation monthly online 50/50 lottery driven by Minden Subaru is an exciting and fun way to support hospital and health care facility equipment needs. Tickets are $40.00 for 399 ticket numbers, $20.00 for 100 ticket numbers, $10.00 for 20 ticket numbers, and $5.00 for 5 ticket numbers.
The amount of the 50/50 estimated prize will be displayed in real time on the Foundation lottery site at www.hhhsf5050.ca and will continue to grow throughout the month. After buying your tickets online, you will receive a confirmation e-mailed with your 50/50 registered numbers from a Random Selection System.
