Today, the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (HKPR) District Health Unit declared that the COVID-19 outbreak in the In-patient Department of the Haliburton Hospital is over. There were a total of 9 patients cases during the outbreak, which was declared by the HHHS Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Department on December 18, 2022.
Regular activities for the In-patient Department will now resume, including receiving new admissions and allowing up to 2 visitors at a time for each inpatient.
Staff will continue to follow Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) measures in the In-patient Department, including mandatory masking in all patient care areas, mandatory vaccination, and regular surveillance testing before entry into the In-Patient Department.
