For Immediate Release
March 22, 2022
As of March 28th, the Community Assessment Centre will move all testing and assessments into the Haliburton Family Medical Centre building, and the Center’s trailer will be removed.
With continued low testing volumes and proactive planning to ensure the safety of those working inside the Haliburton Family Medical Centre, this shift will allow for COVID-19 testing to become more routine.
“We are optimistic about moving out of the crisis response we’ve been in for the past two years,” said Kim Robinson, Executive Director/Office Manager of the Haliburton Highlands Family Health Team and Haliburton Family Medical Centre, on behalf of the Assessment Centre partners. “We are happy to be saying goodbye to the trailer and safely moving all testing to the Haliburton Family Medical Centre, and we thank the Municipality of Dysart et al for their assistance in the use of the parking lot for the Assessment Centre.”
Anyone who suspects they might have COVID-19 and would like to be assessed can call the Assessment Centre at 705-457-1212 (press option 6 or 0 during office closures). Staff will determine if they are eligible for testing or referral to treatment, or if they can be provided with a non-emergency assessment.
If eligible for testing, staff will provide information about how to access the Haliburton Family Medical Centre. Testing and referrals to treatment will only be conducted with an appointment.
More information about eligibility for testing is available at www.hkpr.on.ca/covid-19-assessment-centres.
