The Haliburton Highlands Health Services Foundation is an incorporated registered Canadian charity that financially supports the hospital and health care facilities in Haliburton County for capital projects, equipment, education programs and community support services. The Foundation does not provide funds for the operation of the facilities. Funds are raised through personal, business and corporate donations, special events, promotions, annual giving and a special gift program.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - JUNE 27, 2024
HHHS Foundation Annual General Meeting for the fiscal year 2023-2024 will be held on Thursday June 27, 2024 at 10:00 am in the HHHS Minden Site Auditorium.

The Purpose of the Annual General Meeting:
1. To receive the report of the Foundation Board of Directors
2. To receive the report of the Auditors & Financial Statements
3. The appointment of the Auditors
4. To conduct the election of the Directors
5. Any other business as may properly come before the meeting.

HHHS Foundation Board of Directors

The Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors that dedicates time and expertise to have better health care and hospital facilities.

RECRUITING FOR NEW MEMBERS
The HHHS Foundation is always looking for new members for its volunteer Board of Directors, and is particularly interested in hearing from people with experience in any of the following areas:

- Capital Campaign Fundraising Experience
- Fundraising
- Investment Management
- Community Board Experience
- Legal
- Human Resources
- Board Governance

Geographical diversity across Haliburton County and previous board experience will also be taken into consideration. We are looking for people who are excited about fundraising and governance in rural, cottage-country health care. If you are enthusiastic about community building, fundraising and board governance, and interested in building on our current fundraising efforts to optimize health services in the County.

Donor Recognition Program - Donors of Distinction

The Haliburton Highlands Health Services Foundation's donor recognition system provides meaningful recognition of donations and identifies levels of giving.

The donor recognition system applies to all gifts including bequests, memorial tribute gifts, life insurance gifts, pledges and event fundraising.

Cumulative gift totals starting at $2,500 will be used when determining the appropriate donor gift level. Please visit our Donors of Distinction Walls located in the lobbies of our facilities.

In Memory Wall

Memorial donations received totalling $1,000 or more will provide an opportunity to honour your loved one on the In Memory Wall, when donations are designated for the Haliburton Highlands Palliative Centre.

Book of Honour

HHHS Foundation is pleased to recognize all gifts regardless of size by publishing the donor name in the "Book of Honour" located near the "Donors of Distinction Walls".

Deceased individuals honoured by donations in their memory will have their names published in the special section of the "Book of Honour".

The HHHS Foundation respects the anonymity of donors.

Donor Bill of Rights

Philanthropy is based on voluntary action for the common good. It is a tradition of giving and sharing that is primary to the quality of life. To ensure that philanthropy merits the respect and trust of the general public, and that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in the nonprofit organizations and causes they are asked to support, we declare that all donors have these rights:

To be informed of the organization’s mission, of the way the organization intends to use donated resources, and of its capacity to use donations efficiently & effectively for their intended purposes.

To be informed of the identity of those serving on the organization’s governing board, and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.

To have access to the organization’s most recent financial statements.

To be assured their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.

To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition.

To be assured that information about their donation is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.

To expect that all relationships with individuals representing organizations of interest to the donor will be professional in nature.

To be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees of the organization or hired solicitors.

To have the opportunity for their names to be deleted from our mailing list.

To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.
