Today (February 14, 2021), Haliburton Highlands Health Services (HHHS) received word from Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit that the COVID-19 Outbreak at Hyland Crest has been declared over. The Long-Term Care Home was declared to be in COVID-19 Outbreak January 31, 2021 when 2 essential caregivers tested positive in routine mandatory screening. All residents and staff at Hyland Crest have since been screened with no positive results.
“Obviously this is a tremendous relief for everyone and a strong testament to the efficacy of Infection Prevention and Control measures utilized by staff. All of the protocols we have put in place, and the diligence of staff in ensuring their implementation, are what prevented the spread to residents and staff.
