On September 13, 2025, Lakelands Public Health (the new organization formed by the merger of Peterborough Public Health and the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit) declared Hyland Crest Long-Term Care Home to be in a Respiratory Outbreak.
We are pleased to announce that thanks to the diligent work of the Hyland Crest team, on September 25, 2025, the Health Unit has deemed the outbreak over. Visitors are encouraged to wash their hands frequently using the alcohol hand rub supplied throughout the home. Visitors with respiratory symptoms should postpone their visit for at least 5 days after the onset of symptoms.
